Lip Lift Surgical Technique
Multiple surgical techniques are available for lip lift procedures, with the most commonly performed including:
- Gull-wing Lip Lift: This technique is typically used to improve the appearance of the vermilion (lip line), which creates the crests of the Cupid's bow. During this procedure, the skin tissue will be carefully taken, and the lips will be reshaped and lifted to boost the appeal of the vermilion.
- Sub-nasal Lip Lift: During this surgery, a tiny section of skin from under the nose is removed and then lifted and sewn into the correct position under it. This sub-nasal lip lift technique makes the lips appear larger and fuller, emphasizing the Cupid's bow and increasing the volume of the vermilion.
- Non-surgical Lip flip: This non-surgical technique uses one of the neurotoxins such as Botox to give a more pouty lip without the downtime of surgery.

Recovery was easy and the scarring is very minimal - Dr. Mays and his stanmff are great. I recently had a breast augmentation/revision and a lip lift procedure done. I am about 4 weeks post op and overall I am really pleased with my results. Upon my consultation, I let Dr. Mays know what I disliked about my first BA performed by a different surgeon. I showed him a picutre of what I'd like my revision to look like and he was able to make a recommendation on how to get me the look I desired. My revision has given me the results I wanted. The lip lift procedure also turned out great. Recovery was easy and the scarring, which I was mildly concerned about, is VERY minimal. I am glad that I made the decision to trust Dr. Mays and his staff with my procedures.
